Trustee Services

Alaska USA Trust Company ("AUTC") offers a broad range of fiduciary services to meet the varied needs and objectives of grantors and beneficiaries. Fiduciary fees are dependent upon the level of service provided as set out in our fee schedule as it may from time to time be changed.

The following description of different levels of fiduciary services is intended to be general, but is also intended to illustrate that AUTC is flexible and willing to work with grantors who wish to separate out the various trustee duties and responsibilities among more than one trustee.

AUTC fiduciary services include the following:

Full Trustee services which include all investment and distribution responsibilities as well as sole responsibility for all accounting and other duties required of a trustee.

Independent Trustee services which include responsibility for all discretionary distributions but no responsibility for investments. Can be combined with some or all of the Administrative Trustee services.*

Administrative Trustee services can include custodying assets in Alaska and other duties, but may be limited to the minimum requirements set out in Alaska statutes (see Alaska's Unique Benefits) to enable a trust to qualify as an Alaska Asset Protection Trust, an Alaska Dynasty Trust, or an Alaska Community Property Trust. An "Administrative" Trustee is sometimes referred to as the "Situs" Trustee.*

Other fiduciary services, such as serving as a conservator or as the personal representative of a probate estate, are also available.

* For those trusts in which AUTC is not serving as the sole trustee, the trust document must specifically designate which duties and responsibilities are granted to AUTC and which are granted to one or more co-trustees.
